Julien Girard
experimental astronomer
I am not working in Mexico City anymore...
I
am currently an Operations Staff Astronomer
at ESO,
spending my time between Santiago de Chile and the VLT at Paranal
Observatory.
I now have the amazing opportunity to work on and
operate the most advanced optical telescopes ever built by the
man kind.
I
will try to keep working closely with some of my collaborators at the Instituto
de Astronomía (IA-UNAM) where I really
enjoyed beeing a postdoc for two years.
I also wish good luck to my former colleagues Isaura Fuentes-Carrera and Hector Castañeda for their research and teaching assigments at Escuela Superior de Física y Matematica of the Instituto Politecnico Nacional. I am sad to leave México and the great students and people I had the chance to meet while teaching there. On the other hand I am very happy to have freed myself from this suffocating place and its heavy, passable, and corrupted administration. This is my own opinion, of course.
